Is The New Camry That Radical?

<< Continued From Previous Page

Right now, you probably might be thinking how about the interior? The interior is a departure from the past. Well, the interior is a past from previous Camrys, but it actually has styling cues from previous Toyota and Lexus as well.

Typically a center stack is usually vertical or its horizontal to allow for a front bench seat. On the 2018 Camry it is actually radical in that its vertical, but one side actually slopes inward. It's pretty radical or is it? While not the same in execution, the third generation Lexus RX350 actually has a center stack that is similar to the new Camry. The only difference really is that the Lexus slopes only on one side and to the left instead of the right. The third generation Toyota Prius also has a center console that is similar to the all-new Camry. Like the Lexus, the Prius slopes to the left as well. The only difference is that the Prius actually has a vertical stack, but the sloping is actually created by a character line on the console and not the whole console itself is sloped. So, while the new Camry has a disctintive interior, it's not a radical departure when compared to Toyota's complete portfolio. The new ninth generation Camry is distintive and the boldest Camry yet, but we think the new Camry will do at least as well as previous generations that have sold before it.
